Gabbeh: The Soul of the Nomad Loom
Unlike the courtly carpets of Persia's great weaving cities, Gabbeh rugs were never meant for palaces. They were woven by Qashqai and Luri nomads in the highlands around Shiraz.
The word 'Gabbeh' itself means 'raw' or 'unclipped' — a nod to their thick, naturally textured pile.
